ORIENTATION
Actom signalling is a division of
railway transportation that provide services to the public and industries,
which the main purpose is to help improve train services at reasonable cost as
a result the need for a safer and more effective train control becomes more
important, the factors such as motive power, communication, track, train and
signalling are considered to play important role in the railway industry. The
Actom Company provides Signalling methods or elements for points, signals,
track circuits, interlocking (relay) which combines and interlocks the points,
signals, and track circuits which serves together under the general purposes
of:
- Ensuring a safe distance between trains on the same line.
- Safe guarding the movement of trains at crossings.
- Regulating movement of trains depending on circumstances.

MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE
- Roll call to be taken by nominees within evacuation team ensuring complete evacuation (inclusive of visitors under tour responsibility
- Security staff to remain manning the gates
- Fire team co-ordinator to brief the fire chief or member of the fire brigade from the fire department on their arrival
- Fire department to extinguish the blaze, employees are not to hinder their work for the sake of curiosity. No employee is allowed back on site prior to the fire departments approval
- When declare safe, the evacuation team is to co-ordinate the return of the employees to their respective workplace
- The fire team shall investigate the loss and/or the equipment and/or property
- The entire incident and reporting thereof is to be logged into the incident report register
- Report to divisional manager
EMERGENCY EXITS
- All emergency exits are marked and depicted on the evacuation route diagrams on the safety notice boards
FIRE PROCEDURE
- Immediately notify the fire Marshall or the deputy.
- With the aid of the second person attack the fire with the distinguisher or hose reel. Do not place yourself in danger.
- The fire Marshall and staff appointed will:
- Ensure that the brigade is called. NB: It is imperative that the fire brigade is called as soon as possible. In the absence of the fire Marshall or deputy, any staff member should make the call.
- Supply your name and telephone number
- Give the exact address, with the nearest cross roads, useful landmarks and names of suburbs.
- State your emergency/crisis for example grass fire, vehicle fire and building fire.
- Wait for the operator to end off. Report back to the fire Marshall/scene of the fire
- Direct staff and visitors to available exits, if necessary
- If you are told to leave the building assemble in the assembly areas.
- Do no re-enter the building for any reason.
COMPANY ETHICS
- Although the employee has been employed as a trainee he may be required to perform ancillary, related and any other duties that may reasonably expected by the company.
